Kun added: “Since 2007, Lagos State has witnessed huge improvement in public security. We have confidence in the present administration and we are in total support of the administration to make the state a crime free state.

“This is another sign of close relation between the Chinese Government and the state government.”

He said further: “As the Chinese consul to Nigeria, I have no doubt that President Goodluck Jonathan and Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos state will make the country a better place to live”.

Responding, Fashola thanked the Chinese Government for donating  to support law enforcement in the state which he said would further improve the protection of lives and security of the citizen.

His words: “I believe that apart from being a representative of another country in Nigeria, China have shown a sense of belonging that underlines your commitment to our common development. I hope that other nation will move in greater bound to work with the government to make Nigeria and Lagos State a safe place”.

Fashola, urged other Nigerians to emulate the Chinese government in contributing to the development of the country and the state.

He added: “We must take primary responsibility in the protection of our country even though we expect support from stronger nations and I hope these will spur us…

“Crime is a global phenomenon and anywhere there is conflict there is insecurity. Because the victims of crime will become unproductive which hampers the economy or they will be displaced which makes them to become refugees and further become a burden to other nations.

“The work of security is never finished, there are new challenges, and criminals will continue to invest in order to get better”.

Fashola, however, promised that the state government would do everything possible to outwit criminals in the state and to bring them to justice.
