SPY POLICE TO GET MORE SECURITY ROLES

The Supernumerary Police Office, popularly called SPY Police, is to get more recognition in  Lagos State.

Spokesman of the Lagos State Police Command, Frank Mba, who disclosed this to our correspondent in Lagos on Tuesday, said the command had noticed that there were misconceptions concerning the role, scope of authority and place of SPY Police in the state.

“The SPY Police identification marks always perplex members of the public who often wonder at the meaning of such marks. This we intend to correct,” Mba said.

The spokesman, who described the role of SPY Police as strategic in securing the state, said, “What is being done for a start is to introduce them to members of the public.

“This is what the SPY Police welfare stakeholders and this command are doing through a seminar next week Tuesday at the Airport Hotel. We hope that there will not be any mistake after this because all the units in the police must function effectively.”
